Export Airtable to Excel (.xlsx)
Download a whole Airtable base as one Excel workbook, with a worksheet per table. Airtable itself only downloads CSV, one view at a time. No signup.
What you get
- One
.xlsxfile named after the base, with one worksheet per table (sheet names are shortened to Excel's 31-character limit and made unique). - All records and all fields of every table, in the table's field order, with a bold, frozen header row.
- Plain numbers are stored as real numbers, so you can sum and sort them. Values like
007or phone numbers stay text, so leading zeros survive. - Linked records, lookups, dates and selects come out as the text you see in Airtable (we ask the API for display values in your timezone).
- Accents, emoji and non-Latin text open correctly. No CSV import wizard, no encoding problems.
Airtable allows about 5 API requests per second and returns 100 records per request, so 10,000 records take roughly 25 seconds. Attachments are exported as URLs, which Airtable expires after a few hours.
Why not just download CSV and open it in Excel?
You can, one view at a time: open the view, click the view name, Download CSV, then import it in Excel. For a base with several tables that's a CSV per table, and Excel may mangle UTF-8 text, strip leading zeros or turn IDs into dates when it opens a CSV directly. This tool builds a real workbook instead, so every table lands on its own tab with the types right.

FAQ
Can Airtable export to Excel directly?
No. Airtable's built-in export is Download CSV on a grid view, one view at a time. Getting an .xlsx file needs a conversion step, a third-party tool or the API, which is what this page uses.
Does it export a view or the whole table?
The whole table: every record and every field, regardless of view filters or hidden fields. To get exactly one filtered view as Excel on a schedule, use ViewCourier's scheduled exports.
Will it work with Google Sheets, Numbers or LibreOffice?
Yes. The file is a standard Office Open XML workbook. Upload it to Google Drive or open it in Numbers or LibreOffice Calc.
Is there a size limit?
Excel allows 1,048,576 rows per sheet, far above Airtable's record limits. Very large bases may need a lot of browser memory.
Is my token safe?
Requests go directly from your browser to Airtable's API; check your browser's network tab. Nothing is saved after you close the page.
