Airtable can't email a view as CSV on a schedule

In Airtable you can download a view as CSV, but only by hand from the view menu. Automations can send emails on a schedule, but they can't attach a CSV of a view. Airtable's own support docs and many community threads say the same thing: use a third-party tool.

So teams set reminders to export a CSV every Monday, or maintain fragile automation scenarios with iterators, aggregators and CSV modules. ViewCourier does just this one job and does it reliably.

How it works

  1. Connect Airtable. Create a read-only personal access token and paste it in. It is encrypted at rest.
  2. Pick a view. Choose base, table and view. Your view's filters, sorting and visible fields decide what goes in the file.
  3. Set the schedule. Daily, weekly or monthly at any hour in your timezone, to up to five recipients. Hit "Send now" to test.

FAQ

Is my Airtable data safe?

You connect with an Airtable personal access token that only needs read scopes (data.records:read and schema.bases:read), and you choose which bases it can see. ViewCourier cannot change your data. The token is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. We do not keep copies of your exported records: the CSV is built in memory, emailed, and discarded.

How many records can I export?

Starter exports up to 5,000 rows per run, Pro up to 50,000. If a view has more rows, the email says the file was capped. Filter the view in Airtable to get exactly the rows you want.

Which columns end up in the CSV?

The view's visible fields, in your table's field order. Filters and sorting from the view are respected. Linked records, lookups and multi-selects are joined with commas. Collaborators show as names and attachments as URLs.

How do timezones work?

Pick any time and IANA timezone (for example Europe/Amsterdam or America/New_York). Daylight saving time is handled, so an 08:00 export stays at 08:00 local time all year. Runs start within 15 minutes of the scheduled time.

Will Excel open the file correctly?

Yes. Files are standard RFC 4180 CSV with a UTF-8 byte-order mark, so Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers show accents and non-Latin characters correctly.

What happens when my trial ends?

Your exports pause. Nothing is deleted. Pick a plan and they start running again on their next scheduled time.

What if an export fails?

You can see the error on your dashboard. You also get one email when an export starts failing, not one per run. Common causes are a revoked token or a deleted view.
