Export Airtable to JSON (free, in your browser)
Export an Airtable table or view to a JSON file: every record with its ID, created time and fields, or just the fields as a flat array. Pretty-print it, copy it, download it. No signup.

Get this emailed automatically: schedule it as CSV, Excel or PDF (Free plan, no card).
What you get
- One
.jsonfile named after the base, table and view, holding every record of the table, or of the view you pick (the view's filters and sort order apply). - The default format is an array of
{ "id", "createdTime", "fields" }objects, the same shape the Airtable API returns. Tick Flat to get an array of just the field objects. - Values keep their real types: numbers stay numbers, multi-selects are arrays. Empty fields are left out, as in the API. Text is UTF-8.
Why JSON instead of CSV?
CSV flattens everything into text cells. JSON keeps the structure: a multi-select is a list, an attachment is an object, and a record keeps its ID. Pick JSON when a script, a database import or another app reads the file, and CSV when a person opens it in a spreadsheet. For a whole base as spreadsheets, see the Airtable to CSV tool or the Excel export.
Things to know about the data
- Linked records come as record IDs (
rec...), not names. Export the linked table too and join on the ID, or add a lookup field that returns the name. - Attachments are objects with a URL that expires after about 2 hours. Download the files soon, or use the attachments downloader.
- API limits: Airtable allows about 5 requests per second per base and returns 100 records per request, so 10,000 records take roughly 25 seconds. If Airtable answers with a rate limit error (429), the page waits 30 seconds and retries.
Need a fresh export every day or week?
This page is a snapshot you have to click for. ViewCourier emails any Airtable view as a CSV or Excel (.xlsx) attachment on a schedule (daily, weekly or monthly, in your timezone), for off-platform backups and weekly reports.
Also free: export every table to CSV in one ZIP · export a whole base to one Excel workbook · export the base schema as a data dictionary · count records per table vs your plan limit · print a view or save it as PDF · download all attachments as a ZIP.
FAQ
Can Airtable export to JSON by itself?
No. Its built-in export is Download CSV on a grid view. JSON comes from the REST API, which this page calls for you from your browser, joining the 100-record pages into one file.
What is the difference between the full and the flat format?
Full is what the API returns: id, createdTime and fields per record. Flat is just the field objects. Keep the full format if you need record IDs later.
Why do linked records show up as record IDs?
The API returns linked records as a list of record IDs (rec...), not names. Export the linked table too and join on the ID, or add a lookup field that returns the name.
Do attachment URLs in the JSON keep working?
No. Each attachment object has a url that expires after about two hours. Download the files soon after exporting.
