Export a List of Emails from Airtable
Get a clean list of email addresses out of an Airtable view or table: duplicates removed, invalid entries flagged, several emails per cell split apart. Copy it for BCC or download a CSV for Mailchimp or Brevo. No signup.
Your email list
The CSV always has the columns email and name, one address per row. The name column is filled when a name field is selected.
Get this emailed automatically: schedule it as CSV, Excel or PDF (Free plan, no card).
What the tool does to your addresses
The tool reads whichever field you pick, whether it is an Email field, a text field, a formula, a lookup or a collaborator field, and cleans what it finds:
- Splits cells. One cell can hold several addresses separated by commas, semicolons, spaces or line breaks. Each address gets its own row.
- Flattens lookups. The Airtable API returns lookup fields as lists, and every item is treated as its own address.
- Validates the format. An address needs one @, a local part and a domain with a dot. The check cannot tell whether the mailbox exists.
- Removes duplicates. Matching ignores case, so Jane@Example.com and jane@example.com count as one. The first spelling is kept.
How to export a list of emails from Airtable, step by step
- In Airtable, make a grid view of the people you want to email, for example with a filter such as Subscribed is checked. The tool respects the filters of the view you pick.
- Create a personal access token at airtable.com/create/tokens with the scopes
data.records:readandschema.bases:read, and add the base. - Paste the token above, press Load my bases and pick the base, table and view. The email field is picked for you: a field of type Email first, then a field with "email" in its name.
- Press Fetch emails. The page reads 100 records per request.
- Set the options, then copy the list or download the CSV.
No token? Switch to From a CSV file or pasted text, upload the file from Airtable's Download CSV and pick the email column. The same cleaning applies, and you can paste a plain list of addresses to remove duplicates from it.
Export emails natively in Airtable
For a short list you do not need a tool. Airtable has two built-in ways:
- Download CSV. Open the base on a computer, select a grid view, click the down arrow next to the view name and choose Download CSV. The file holds the visible fields of that view, so hide every field except the email (and name) first, in a view made for the purpose. The steps, and the fix for a greyed-out option, are in how to download a CSV from Airtable.
- Copy a column. In the grid, select the cells of the email column (click the first cell, then Shift-click the last one), copy them and paste them into a spreadsheet or a text editor. On a shared view this works only if the owner left Allow viewers to copy data out of this view on.
Both give you one address per line. Cells with several addresses stay as they are, duplicates stay in, and you still have to build the comma-separated list yourself. To export every table of a base instead of one view, use the Airtable base to CSV tool.
A comma-separated list for BCC in Gmail or Outlook
Pick the separator that matches your mail program:
- Comma works in Gmail and in most mail programs.
- Semicolon is the traditional separator in Outlook. If a pasted list does not turn into separate recipients, switch the separator and paste again.
- New line gives one address per line, for a spreadsheet column or text file.
Paste the list into Bcc, not To, so recipients cannot see each other. Both providers cap recipients per message. Google's help says you may hit a sending limit with more than 500 recipients in one email or more than 500 emails in a day, and suggests a Google Group for big lists. Microsoft documents a default of 500 recipients per message for Exchange Online, which an admin can set from 1 to 1000. Limits change and differ between personal and work accounts, so read the current pages: Gmail limits for sending and getting mail and Exchange Online outbound sending limits.
BCC suits a one-off note to a small group. For newsletters, use a mailing tool, which handles unsubscribe links and bounces.
Import the list into Mailchimp, Brevo or another mailing tool
Press Download CSV. The file has a header row with email and name and one address per row. Mailchimp, Brevo and most other mailing tools can import contacts from a CSV file: open the import contacts option in the audience or contacts section, upload the file and match each column to a contact field. Menu names change, so follow the importer's own help page.
- One name column. The tool exports a single name field. If your mailing tool wants first and last name apart, use Airtable's Download CSV on the full view and map the columns yourself.
- Keep unsubscribes out. Add an Unsubscribed checkbox in Airtable and filter the view on it being empty, so an import never re-adds someone who opted out.
Keep the list in sync
This page is a snapshot. Two ways to avoid repeating it by hand:
A filtered view plus a scheduled CSV. Build a view called Mailing list with the filters you need and only the Email and Name fields visible. ViewCourier can email that view as a CSV every week, to you or up to five recipients. On the Free plan you get one weekly or monthly export of up to 1,000 rows. Starter (EUR 9 a month) adds daily schedules and 5,000 rows, and Pro (EUR 19 a month) allows 50,000 rows and hourly schedules. When the file arrives, upload it to your mailing tool, or run it through this page first to remove duplicates. ViewCourier delivers the view as a file: it does not push contacts into Mailchimp or Brevo and does not clean addresses. See pricing.
Zapier or Make. Both can watch an Airtable table for new records and add each to a mailing tool as it appears. They are separate services with their own pricing. Zapier and Make compared with scheduled CSV exports covers the trade-offs.
Privacy and GDPR
This page runs in your browser. The script sends the token only to api.airtable.com, builds the list on your device and stores nothing in cookies or local storage. You can revoke the token on Airtable at any time.
The addresses themselves are personal data. Having someone's email in Airtable does not mean you may send them marketing. Under the GDPR and the EU rules on electronic marketing you generally need a lawful basis, which for newsletters usually means the person opted in, with exceptions that differ by country. Only email people who agreed, keep a record of when and how, honour unsubscribes, and delete downloaded files after the import. This is general information, not legal advice.
Troubleshooting
- The email field is not in the list. The dropdown shows text, email, formula, lookup, rollup and collaborator fields. A linked-record field returns record IDs, not addresses. Add a lookup field to the linked table's email and pick that.
- The count is lower than the table. The view's filters apply. Pick All records to read the whole table.
- Duplicates remain. Matching ignores case only.
jane+news@example.comandjane@example.comare different addresses, as are a person's work and home emails. - Several emails in one cell. They are split on commas, semicolons and spaces, and both addresses get the same name.
- Invalid addresses. The first few are shown under the count. Typical causes are a missing domain ending, a space inside the address, or text such as "n/a". Fix them in Airtable and fetch again.
- Rate limit. On a 429 reply from Airtable the page waits 30 seconds and retries.
- Garbled accents in a CSV. Save the file as UTF-8. Comma, semicolon and tab delimiters are detected.

FAQ
How do I export a list of emails from Airtable?
Make a grid view with only the people you want to email, paste a read-only personal access token into this page, pick the base, table, view and email field, and copy the list or download it as a CSV. Without a token, use Download CSV in the view menu and upload that file here.
Can I get the emails as a comma-separated list for BCC?
Yes. Choose the comma separator and paste the list into the BCC box, or the semicolon separator if your Outlook version expects semicolons. Gmail and Exchange Online cap the recipients per message, so check their current limits first.
Does this page store my token or my email addresses?
No. The page runs in your browser and sends the token only to api.airtable.com. The addresses are processed on your device and not uploaded to ViewCourier. Use a read-only token and delete it afterwards.
What happens when a cell holds several emails, or the field is a lookup?
The tool splits each cell on commas, semicolons and spaces and lists every address on its own. Lookup fields, which the Airtable API returns as lists, are flattened the same way.
How do I import the list into Mailchimp or Brevo?
Download the CSV, which has the columns email and name, then use the import contacts option of your mailing tool, upload the file and match the columns. Only import people who agreed to receive your emails.
Can the email list update itself?
Not inside this page, which is a snapshot. You can email a filtered view as a CSV every week with ViewCourier and upload it to your mailing tool, or use Zapier or Make to add each new record as it appears.
