Daily email of overdue tasks from Airtable

A morning email that lists what's overdue keeps a project base honest. Here is a setup that works for one person, a whole team, or each assignee separately.

Step 1: the overdue view

In your Tasks table, create a grid view called Overdue with these filters (all conditions must match):

Sort by due date, oldest first, and show only the useful columns: task, assignee, due date, project, status. Optionally add a formula field for the days overdue: DATETIME_DIFF(TODAY(), {Due date}, 'days').

Step 2: one email for everyone, or one per person?

Step 3: send it every morning

With an Airtable automation

Trigger At a scheduled time (daily, weekdays), Find records from the Overdue view, then Send email with the records as a grid. Good for short lists. Keep in mind that the email shows at most 100 records, that test runs only preview the first 10, and that daily runs on every weekday add up against your plan's automation run limit.

As a CSV attachment

If the list is long, or a manager wants to filter it in Excel, send the view as a CSV file. With ViewCourier you pick the Overdue view, choose daily at 08:00 in your timezone, and add the recipients; every run attaches the full view as a CSV and the subject shows the row count, so "Overdue: 0 rows" tells you at a glance that everything is on track. If you'd rather hear nothing on good days, tick Don't send scheduled emails when the view has no records; the email then only arrives when something is actually overdue.
