Export only new or changed Airtable records every day

Full exports are great for backups, but a lot of daily reporting only needs the delta: what was added or changed since yesterday. Airtable can't export "changes" directly, but a filtered view gets you there.

Step 1: add a Last modified time field

Add a field of type Last modified time. By default it updates when any field changes. You can restrict it to specific fields (for example Status and Amount), which is usually what you want: a change to an internal note shouldn't put a record in the client's daily file.

Edits made by automations, scripts and integrations count as changes too, so restrict the field if a sync tool touches every record.

Step 2: build the delta view

Hide fields the recipient doesn't need and sort by the modified time. Add a Created time column too, so the reader can tell new records from edited ones.

Step 3: deliver it every day

An Airtable automation can find the records and put them in an email body, but it can't attach them as a file, and the email list stops at 100 records. For a file that imports cleanly into Excel, Google Sheets or another system:
